Unstoppable was the feeling I had on 6th January 2023 when I decided to launch my lightbulb moment "Vivere Hosting", the feeling I got watching my first ever woman's football match, when new ideas kept on flooding my mind, and the "meant to be" conversations I had began to have. I knew 2023 was going to be transformational, but I had no idea why!
You know when you just have this gut feeling that this new year was going to be very different. Having decided not to renew my practising certificate in November, after a 21 year career as a sports lawyer, I knew I wanted to continue working in the events industry but retire as a lawyer. I have always been passionate about education, I have mentored women throughout my career, and 2022 had been lifechanging for me. I needed to share my experience and give people the platform to live well, and connect on an intimate level.
Early on in 2022, I found out my new found brain fog (having had my second child 5 years ago at this point, could not be down to baby brain) was down to hormone changes! Then along came imposter syndrome, joint problems, and sleepless nights. All this because I was peri-menopausal. I decided I had to embrace the change, and thank goodness I did, otherwise my lightbulb moment may never have happened. By seeking help from my Gynae which was a huge journey in itself, other experts in women's health (unfortunately my GP told me he did not do women's problems, and that he could not possibly put me on HRT as I was only 41 at the time) and by taking natural nutritional support to balance my hormones, I soon felt like a new more empowered me! Having finally sorted our my joint problems which were completely reversed by taking a course of steroids (yes all brought on by peri-menopause) I was able to Horse Ride and play Golf again with no inflammation or pain.
By late summer I had injured my shoulder playing Golf, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as this was when I found Art again! Having not picked up a paint brush since I was a teen, it was liberating, a sense of happiness and confidence that I get when I delve into the creative process of painting is surreal. By finally having some me time, in a body and mind that felt like my own again, "Vivere Hosting" was born. Vivere means in so many languages "to live", we only have one life, we must live it well.
